“Mes Ententes pour 4 personnages”

for saxophone quartet and electronics

The premiere performances of Miguel Azguime’s “Mes Ententes pour 4 personnages” (2012), for saxophone quartet and electronics, took place on March 30th and 31st, 2012, at two concerts, which the Canadian saxophone quartet Quasar gave within the “Les Mutations dynamiques” series.

During the concerts entitled “La Cité des soufflés”, the Quasar Saxophone Quartet, which has recently won the Opus prize for performer of the year, continued the exploration of sound in the digital age, blurring the frontiers between acoustic and electronic. Within the repertoire of pieces by such composers as Giorgio Magnanensi, Félix-Antoine Morin and André Hamel, Miguel Azguime’s new work, “Mes Ententes pour 4 personnages”, took the performers to a theatrical universe (the title could be translated as “My (dis)Agreements for Four Characters”), in which instrumental virtuosity creates a poetic world where the musicians become hilarious characters.

The concert will take place at the Studio Hydro-Québec (Monument-National) in Canada.
